Mystic of the Midway

Welcome to the Mystic of the Midway official site!

It's the final years of the Crystal Beach amusement park. Effie and her friends race through the midway to uncover the secrets of the town's current residents and some from it's distant past.

You see Effie isn't your average girl. After a horrible accident Effie is able to see and hear things. She only hopes that the things she sees and hears are telling her something and not a sign of her losing her mind!.
Crystal Beach was a real amusement park that operated for almost a century 1890-1989 in Crystal Beach Ontario Canada.

Although Crystal Beach was real, the characters and events that appear in Mystic of the Midway are probably not.

Mystic of the Midway will be available for order soon. As soon as it is, the site will be updated with everything you need to get a copy.

Mystic of the Midway  seeks photographs to capture the imagination of its readers.

“We wanted Mystic readers to realize that Crystal Beach was a real amusement park that would spark interest and inquiry into local history” author A.A. Blair explains.

Mystic takes place in two time periods the late 1960’s and mid 1980’s. Submissions featuring rides: The Pirate, Jolly Roger, Comet, Laff in the Dark and Magic Palace are being sought. Submissions will receive compensation for their photos if selected.

The author goes on to explain the unique strategy, “we that opening the submission call to the public would yield unique finds and give park goers a chance to breathe new life to their memories of Crystal Beach.”

Submissions are requested in a digital format (JPEG, PNG, TIFF) to [email protected] Other arrangements can be made by contacting the same email address. A follow up release will be issued identifying the selected photos and contributors.
